Lake Elsinore man accused of sexually abusing 2 girls pleads ‘Not Guilty’

MURRIETA (CNS) - A 45-year-old Lake Elsinore man accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting two girls -- one of them for almost eight years -- pleaded not guilty today to more than two dozen felony offenses. Selvin Exequiel Garcia Yax was arrested Oct. 2, following a Riverside County Sheriff's Department investigation. Yax is charged with seven counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child, eight counts of sodomy of a minor, six counts each of forced oral copulation of a child and child rape, three counts of lewd acts on a minor and one count of kidnapping to commit rape. He is also facing sentence-enhancing allegations of targeting multiple victims in a sex crime. Yax pleaded not guilty to all charges Monday at the Southwest Detention Center and is being held on $2 million bail at the
