Riverside County’s COVID hospitalizations increase slightly

RIVERSIDE (CNS) - The number of coronavirus patients in Riverside County hospitals increased by five people to 317 in the latest data. Of those patients, 82 were in intensive care, up seven from Sunday. The aggregate number of COVID cases recorded in the county since the pandemic began in March 2020 rose by 1,193 since Friday, reaching 386,983, according to the Riverside University Health System. A total of 5,536 deaths from virus-related complications have been recorded in the county in the past 21 months. The fatalities are trailing indicators because of delays processing death certificates and can go back weeks, according to health officials.
