SAN JACINTOÂ - A 29-year-old parolee from San Jose remained jailed without bail today after leading authorities on a wild pursuit in an allegedly stolen vehicle from San Jacinto to Hemet.
The pursuit began at about 11:30 a.m. Saturday when deputies attempted to stop the suspect near Ramona Expressway and Lake Park Drive, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
The driver sped off and drove in a reckless manner through San Jacinto, prompting deputies on the ground to fall back while a sheriff's helicopter continued to follow the suspect from above, Sgt. J. Wade Lenton said.
The suspect continued driving south into Hemet and eventually stopped in the 700 block of La Jolla Avenue, where he fled on foot, but was apprehended by deputies a short distance from the vehicle, acc
