Murrieta adopts new voting districts following 2020 census

The city of Murrieta has adopted new voting districts to better represent the city’s population following the 2020 census.The new districts, which were introduced during a public hearing at the Feb. 15 city council meeting were adopted March 1, during a public hearing held at the regular Murrieta City Council meeting.Under the new district boundaries, District 1 has a population of 22,416, of which 15,426 are of voting age, District 2 has a population of 22,481 with 14,595 of voting age.
