County creates Mountains Edge CFD
The Riverside County Board of Supervisors approved the formation of a community facilities district for the Mountains Edge development.The vote to approve the CFD was 4-0 with Karen Spiegel absent. The resolution of formation included calling for a special election to levy a tax to fund the CFD. Although that is a formal legal requirement rather than a potential obstacle, as a developer who owns a project before it is subdivided can cast the sole vote in favor of a CFD which is binding on subsequent property owners.Cal Hearthstone Lot Option Pool 03, L.P., is the current owner of the Mountains Edge property. The tract map calls for 190 single-family dwelling units. The land is at the northeast corner of Matthews Road and Briggs Road.A community facilities district allows bonds
