Bianco, Hestrin poised to retain seats in early election results

UPDATE; June 7, 11:34 p.m.Sheriff Chad Bianco (94,276 votes or 57.06% of the vote) is retaining his lead over challenger Michael Lujan (70,953 or 42.94%).Riverside County District Attorney Mike Hestrin is holding on to a comfortable lead in his bid for a third term as the county's top prosecutor with 52.30% of the vote over Superior Court Judge Burke Strunsky (23.87) and attorney Lara Gressley (23.83%).The early ballot results put Hestrin on the precipice of claiming victory in the race without need of a November runoff.Riverside County 5th District Supervisor Jeff Hewitt (33.09%) found himself in a tight battle tonight in his bid for reelection, with early returns putting him in second place in the four-person contest behind Moreno Valley Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez (33.81%).
