Lake Elsinore fire seriously injures one person

LAKE ELSINORE - A fire north of Lake Elsinore burned a home, spread to at least seven acres of surrounding vegetation and sent one person to a hospital. The blaze was reported at 11:50 a.m. at El Toro and Lindell roads in an unincorporated area, according to the Riverside County Fire Department. Fire officials said a civilian was airlifted to a hospital with serious injuries. A video from the scene shared by the fire department on social media shows the apparent remains of a home reduced to burning rubble in a remote area. The forward progress of the fire was stopped by 1:10 p.m., officials said. Firefighters with the Murrieta Fire Department and the Bureau of Land Management were at the scene assisting county fire crews with mop-up work. Southern California Edison was also respondi
