Zone change initially approved for Kalmia Ranch Estates planned 35 1-acre executive home sites
The Murrieta City Council held a major discussion about a proposed zone change for a property located at the southwest corner of Hayes Avenue and Kalmia Street, adjacent to the city-owned Equestrian Center Tuesday, Sept. 6. The zone change would allow a tentative tract map for the Kalmia Ranch Estates to build 35 one-acre ranch homes on the property and allow for horses.The issue was the subject of a public hearing where almost 30 nearby residents voiced their approval for the zone change, while a few others voiced their objections.After the discussion, the council voted to give their unanimous approval for the amendments after the first reading, with Councilmember Lori Stone recusing herself because she owns property in the area.Councilmember Christi White led the discussion,
