Murrieta Valley's Asa Chatman (1) eludes the tackle attempt of San Clemente 's Max Bollard (36) during Week Five action at Murrieta Valley High School. Valley News/Action Captures Media Group

The final week of the preseason has landed, and only a couple of handfuls of local prep football teams played, or, still play this week. With most programs taking advantage of their Week Zero games, this is the week that is primarily used as a bye-week. A week off either helps in the sense of healing for the banged-up players, or it hinders in the sense of losing momentum after a good couple of weeks of football.

With league games approaching, and the playoffs lurking in the distance, here are scores so far for the Week Five high school football games involving local teams inside our coverage area.
