Santa Rosa Academy basketball fans were happy after both the boys’ and girls’ teams took down the California Military Institute Rough Riders in both their South Valley League bouts Wednesday, Jan. 4. Santa Rosa Academy’s girls’ team won 42-29, and the boys’ team won 47-36.

The leading scorer for the Lady Rangers was Kadence Bernard, who had 27 points at the end of the night. With the victory, Santa Rosa Academy improved its record to 3-5 on the season campaign. After the loss, the Rough Riders were 0-3 in league play.

As for the boys’ team, Santa Rosa Academy moved to 10-4 overall on the season with their victory. Leading scorers against CMI were Anthony Loft, who had 12 points, and Daniel Flores with 10. With the defeat, California Military Institute moved to 4-4 on the year.
