MENIFEE – Jennifer Root, Ed.D., superintendent of Menifee Union School District and Edwin Gomez, Ed.D., superintendent of schools for Riverside County, paid a special visit to Táawila Elementary in Menifee to recognize Principal Daphne Donoho as the 2022-2023 Riverside County Principal of the Year, Monday, Feb. 13.

“The academic thriving and positive culture at Táawila Elementary are due, in large part, to Mrs. Donoho’s leadership,” Root said. “She strikes a remarkable balance in being both a relational and instructional leader. We are fortunate to have her as a part of our leadership team at MUSD.”

The students and staff broke into great cheering and applause upon the special announcement. After a rigorous selection process amongst candidates from numerous schools throughout Riverside County, Donoho was selected. Her nomination and candidacy for the award told of how she laid the foundation for success as the school’s inaugural principal.

“Principal Donoho has done a tremendous job leading the students and staff at Táawila Elementary,” school board President Morgan Singleton said. “This recognition is very well deserved.”

The Riverside County Superintendent of Schools will be celebrating Donoho and other educators of the year at a luncheon in early May 2023.
