Dear Editor,President Joe Biden’s recent bloviation in Monterey Park to “finish the job” and “ban assault weapons” totally rings hollow and reeks of hypocrisy. And despite the abominable carnage and tragedy that occurred in Monterey Park, many of the weapons used by the killer were already technically banned by California State Law.Biden’s new push for more stringent gun bans lacks credibility when considering other current U.S. bans on drugs like methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin and fentanyl. How are these federal restrictions and penalties working at stopping the flow of these dangerous substances into our country through Biden’s open southwest border?
