Organizers of Anza’s annual Community Easter Egg Hunt are asking the public for help stuffing thousands of new plastic eggs with candy for the event. The eggs will be used in several age-coordinated hunts to be held at the Lions Club of Anza Valley’s Minor Field gymkhana arena off Kirby Road Saturday, April 8.

Dates for the get togethers are Friday, March 31, Monday, April 3, Tuesday, April 4 and Friday, April 7, from 8 a.m. to noon each day. Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, located at 56095 Peña Rd. in Anza, has generously donated space for volunteers to work.

“Come and help stuff eggs for the Community Easter Event,” organizer Christi James said. “We also need candy donations before Saturday, April 1. Drop off locations are at the HCN Bank, ERA Realty and Lorraine’s Pet Supply. Thank you for supporting community events.”

Over 30 civic groups, businesses and churches will come together to present Anza’s annual Community Easter Egg Hunt. The yearly free celebration will be held from noon until 4 p.m.

Children will enjoy prizes, fun and games, with egg hunts organized by age. Last year 10,000 plastic prize-filled eggs were discovered by the eager hunters. The Easter Bunny is expected to make his hoppy appearance during the festivities.

Vendors, game booths, crafts, food and treats are all part of the fun.
