Lake Riverside Estates resident Scott Thudium gently lifted his shiny trumpet and soulfully engaged in a resounding rendition of “Taps” to honor fallen soldiers as part of the Taps Across America event held on Memorial Day, Monday, May 29.“My good friend John, who is a phenomenal Temecula trumpet player, told me about the program,” he said. “I thought it would be great to be a part of an event that invites thousands of musicians to play ‘Taps’ at exactly 3 p.m. local time across America each Memorial Day.”Thudium played to an intimate crowd of LRE neighbors and friends, the bright notes reverberating throughout the community.“I started playing the cornet in the fall of fifth grade,” he explained. “This is how many young students start their musical career
