LOS ANGELES — The SuperMotocross World Championship, which combines the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship and the AMA Pro Motocross Championship into a 31-event series, will culminate with the World Championship Final on Saturday, Sept. 23, at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

The championship is part of the historic venue’s “Coliseum Forever” celebration, which honors the centennial anniversary of the Coliseum taking place this year. The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum played an iconic role in both Supercross and Motocross history by hosting the first ever Superbowl of Motocross race on July 8, 1972, marking the birth of Supercross and making the Coliseum a perfect choice for hosting the inaugural SMX World Championship Final in 2023.

The SuperMotocross World Championship, the premier off-road motorcycle racing series that combines the technical precision of stadium racing with the all-out speed and endurance of outdoor racing, will boast the sport’s largest payout of $10 million over the course of the full 31-event season. Prize money is being added to both the Supercross and Pro Motocross Championships, leaving $5.5 million up for grabs for the playoffs and final. A guaranteed $1 million will go to the 450cc champion and $500,000 to the 250cc champion.

This inaugural season-capping event will also feature the world’s most physically, mentally, and technically challenging track that will combine defining elements from both stadium and outdoor racing.
