Letter to the editor: Banning TikTok… the U.S. Constitution is not a suicide pact
In a rare bipartisan vote, Congress is correctly advancing a bill that would ban TikTok if the digital platform continues to be owned and influenced by the despots running the People’s Republic of China.While some free trade libertarians and China apologists may protest this bill by citing the U.S. Constitution, our Constitution is first and foremost an American blueprint for governance. The Constitution provides no guarantees for the “free speech” rights of foreign totalitarian regimes.
