The Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District will purchase 152 supervisory control and data acquisition wireless radios.A 5-0 vote at the Thursday, April 25, EVMWD board meeting approved a $292,800.68 purchase order for SCADA wireless radios from Systems Integrated Inc. The district’s SCADA network has more than 230 radios, but EVMWD staff determined that 152 radios needed to be replaced to meet the most recent cybersecurity standards and to increase overall reliability in operating the district’s water and wastewater facilities.The district’s SCADA system was implemented in 2004 and included a wireless radio communications network between the district’s main office and remote sites consisting of pump stations, reservoirs, lift stations and water treatment plants.
