Hestrin to present information on proposed ballot measure during Victim Services roundtable

The Riverside County District Attorney’s Office Division of Victim Services will hold a roundtable discussion with guest presenter Riverside County District Attorney Mike Hestrin Tuesday, May 21.The roundtable will be held from 1:30-3 p.m. via Zoom offering interested parties the chance to learn more about the proposed statewide ballot measure, “Homelessness, Drug Addiction and Theft Reduction Act” that is likely to appear on the Nov. 5 ballot.The initiative, should voters approve it, would drastically amend Proposition 47, which lessened charges associated with non-violent property crimes and drug possession, increasing penalties for certain theft crimes.The Homelessness, Drug Addiction and Theft Reduction Act” would increase penalties for certain theft crimes, making
