Anza Community Hall hosts Nixon Fire town hall meeting

The Anza Community Hall hosted a Nixon Fire town hall meeting featuring fire department, emergency services and law enforcement officials Friday, August 2. A free spaghetti dinner, beverages and desserts were provided, and donation jars available to collect funds for fire victims. Fire behavior, containment techniques, and preliminary damage assessments were shared with residents. The Nixon Fire began Monday, July 29, at around 12:30 p.m. near Tule Valley Road and Richard Nixon Boulevard in Aguanga. The blaze led to widespread evacuation orders and warnings as it continued to spread swiftly. The fire rapidly expanded to 4941 acres by 5:45 p.m. Tuesday.
