The Rancho California Water District approved a five-year contract with Badger Meter to replace customer water meters.The RCWD board voted 7-0 September 12 to approve the five-year agreement. The annual contract amount will not exceed the annual approved budget for the Customer Meter Replacement Program, and for Fiscal Year 2024-25 that amount is $1,653,000.Rancho Water has previously purchased meters from Badger Meter, which is headquartered in Milwaukee. Those meters have often lasted for more than 20 years, which reduces the need for frequent replacements and minimizes maintenance costs.
