The Riverside County Board of Supervisors voted last week to hire a consultant who will conduct a thorough, outside evaluation and provide a strategic plan for the Department of Animal Services (DAS).The vote comes after the Board’s ad hoc on animal services identified the need to hire a recognized expert in the field of animal services and shelter operations. The Executive Office was directed to find an expert and bring the recommendation to the full Board of Supervisors.
