Traffic Collision Reported on I-215 Near Newport Road

A traffic collision involving multiple vehicles was reported on the northbound Interstate 215 just south of McCall Boulevard on Friday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene at approximately 3:07 p.m.

The incident involved a black Lincoln sedan and a semi-truck hauling cargo, with reports of a third unknown vehicle potentially involved. The Lincoln reportedly came to rest in the center divider, while the semi-truck was positioned on the right-hand shoulder. No other vehicles were observed in the immediate vicinity.

Initial reports indicated one individual was seen looking into the windows of a vehicle, possibly searching for someone, while another person was observed walking away from the scene. The pedestrian, described as a woman with long black hair wearing all black clothing, remains unconfirmed as connected to the incident.

Emergency medical services were notified, with a unit en route by 3:24 p.m. The cause of the collision and the condition of those involved have not yet been disclosed.

Traffic disruptions were reported in the far-left lane as responders worked to clear the scene. The CHP is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution when traveling through the area.
