Native plants/pollination garden planted at elementary school in Murrieta

E. Hale Curran Elementary School in Murrieta got a special garden on Saturday, Feb. 8. The garden is all native, drought-tolerant plants that will bloom throughout the year. The plants were also chosen for their ability to support endangered pollinators.About 25 people volunteered to help plant nearly 100 plants on a slope inside the school grounds. These volunteers included children and their parents, AP environmental science students from Mesa High School, principal Greg Lumsden, district superintendent Dr. Ward Andrus and representatives of Murrieta Rotary. The Rotary Club of Murrieta provided funds to buy the plants and some miscellaneous materials for the garden.The garden was planted in early February to tak
