
MURRIETA – Dorothy McElhinney Middle School (DMMS) has earned the prestigious designation as a California School to Watch, recognizing its commitment to academic excellence, student-centered learning, and innovative teaching practices. This honor is awarded by the California League of Middle Schools (CLMS) in partnership with the California Department of Education and is part of a national program identifying high-performing middle schools.
To achieve this recognition, DMMS underwent a competitive application process, followed by an in-depth school site visit by middle school education experts from across the nation. Schools that earn this distinction must demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, social equity, developmental responsiveness, and organizational structures that suppor
