Traffic Collision on I-15 Near Deer Springs Causes Lane Closures

A traffic collision on northbound Interstate 15 near Deer Springs Road led to lane closures and extensive delays Thursday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

The incident occurred around 1:24 p.m. when a vehicle swerved across all lanes and overturned, coming to rest on its roof in the center divider. Multiple vehicles stopped at the scene, and several motorists attempted to assist the occupants.

CHP and Cal Fire San Diego responded, and emergency crews worked to clear the scene. The collision resulted in damage to a guardrail and approximately 100 yards of cable barrier. Southbound lanes were also impacted due to the damaged guardrail obstructing traffic, prompting a lane closure and a SigAlert for one hour.

Tow trucks were dispatched to remove the overturned vehicle, and lane closures remained in effect for an extended period as crews repaired the barrier.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. No information was immediately available regarding any injuries.
