MENIFEE - A Menifee police officer has been arrested following a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department investigation into sexual assault allegations, officials said.The Menifee Police Department said it received a complaint on July 22 alleging sexual assault by one of its officers. The initial report did not identify the officer, but a preliminary internal investigation led to the identification of an employee, according to the department.To ensure a fair and impartial process, Menifee police referred the matter to the Sheriff’s Department’s Special Victims Unit on July 24.
