Firefighters are battling a wildfire west of Temecula that has prompted evacuation warnings for nearby communities, Cal Fire Riverside reported Wednesday.
The blaze, dubbed the Tornado Fire, was reported around midday near Tornado and Santa Rosa roads. By late afternoon, the fire had grown to 12 acres with no containment. Smoke was visible across the Temecula Valley.
Authorities issued evacuation warnings for zones RVC-2296 and TMC-2249. Residents in those areas were urged to prepare to leave if conditions worsen.
