A 30-year-old Perris man on parole for sexual assault was arrested Friday after two separate alleged attacks in Temecula less than two hours apart, authorities said.
Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Southwest Station were called about 5:21 p.m. Sept. 19 to the 40000 block of Winchester Road for a report involving a juvenile victim. During the investigation, detectives learned the same suspect had also allegedly assaulted an adult earlier that afternoon at a business in the 20000 block of Ynez Road, the department said.
The suspect, identified as Jacob Paulsen, was determined to be an active sex registrant and on parole for sexual assault, according to the sheriff’s office. He was booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center on suspicion of lewd acts with a minor, sexual battery, indecent exposure and a parole violation. Investigators obtained a bail enhancement, setting his bail at $500,000.
Detectives believe there may be additional victims and asked anyone with information to contact Corporal K. Au at (951) 696-3000 or Sheriff’s Dispatch at (951) 776-1099. The investigation remains active, the agency said.
