Convicted sex offender pleads not guilty in Temecula assaults on girl, woman

A 30-year-old convicted sex offender accused of molesting a girl near a Temecula high school and groping a woman at a nearby mall pleaded not guilty Monday to multiple felony charges, authorities said. Jacob Brian Paulsen of Perris was arrested Sept. 19 after two alleged assaults reported less than two hours apart, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. Deputies from the Southwest Station were called about 5:21 p.m. to the 40000 block of Winchester Road, where investigators said a juvenile girl had been victimized. Detectives later learned Paulsen had also allegedly assaulted an adult woman earlier that afternoon at a business in the 20000 block of Ynez Road.
