Statement from Riverside Sheriff’s Department regarding fatal accident Sunday night, December 7, 2025.
“On December 7, 2025, at 6:59 p.m., deputies from the Southwest Sheriff’s Station responded to the area of Jefferson Avenue and Via Montezuma, Temecula, regarding a report of a major-injury traffic collision. Upon arrival, deputies located a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. Deputies and medical personnel attempted life-saving measures, but the pedestrian succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The pedestrian was identified as Michael McClellan, a 56-year-old resident of Menifee. The driver of the vehicle was interviewed at the scene, and no arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing, and no additional information is available at this time.”
