Black Voices of the Valley, in partnership with VPS Volunteers for Public Service, hosted a community toy giveaway at San Jacinto’s Lighthouse Christian Church on Saturday, Dec. 20, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event was made possible through the generous support of community sponsors, including The Rose of Sharon Seven, Kevi Ten, Elijah Cares, and Miss Selena Burns.
Families in attendance enjoyed a festive atmosphere featuring complimentary gift wrapping, popcorn, chicken noodle soup, donuts, hot cocoa, arts and crafts, and additional family-friendly activities. The celebration was further honored by the presence of San Jacinto Mayor Valerie Vandever and Riverside County Supervisor Yxstian Gutierrez, who joined the community in support of the event.
The day was filled with joy, connection, and generosity, ensuring that every child in attendance left with toys and additional gifts. Free items distributed included shirts, books, clothing, housewares, and other essential goods.
“Through events like this, Black Voices of the Valley continues its mission to serve the community by amplifying the voices of Black and Brown children and fostering excellence through access, care, and opportunity,” Executive Director Stephanie Bruce said.
