The Association of California Water Agencies has ten regions and Region 9 encompasses Riverside County, San Bernardino County, and Imperial County. Region 9 has a seven-member board, and Eastern Municipal Water District board member Joe Grindstaff is now the chair of the Region 9 board.“I’m very happy to be on the ACWA board,” Grindstaff said.The ACWA agencies within Region 9 voted for the chair and vice-chair of the 2026-27 board. Grindstaff was chosen as the Region 9 chair and Paul Ortega of the Desert Water Agency (Palm Springs) was selected as the vice-chair.
