A January 27 Riverside County Board of Supervisors action will result in improvements to the playground at Sallee Park.The supervisors’ 5-0 vote amended the county’s Community Development Block Grant plan to add $217,300 for the playground improvements. Although Sallee Park is in the City of San Jacinto, the County of Riverside administers the CDBG program for the city.The Community Development Block Grant program is intended to revitalize lower-income communities. If a facility provides services to low-income or moderate-income residents, including seniors, the facility itself does not need to be in a low-income census tract.
