The Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District will be replacing the buoy-based water quality monitoring systems known as sondes, which monitor the water quality in Lake Elsinore.A 5-0 EVMWD board vote on February 12 approved a contract with YSI, Inc., to replace the two existing sondes. The $337,899.35 contract will also add two additional swap sondes.The existing sondes were installed in 2006 as part of the Lake Elsinore Aeration and Mixing project. One of those sondes is located near Lakeshore Drive, while the other is near Grand Avenue.
