Young visionaries take over Menifee: Táawila Elementary PTA hosts “Future Innovators Hackathon”
MENIFEE – Approximately 50 Táawila Elementary students recently transformed the Menifee Public Library into a hub of high-tech invention for the PTA’s Future Innovators Hackathon. The hands-on event, held in honor of Black History Month, challenged students from Transitional Kindergarten through 5th grade to work in small teams to identify real-world problems found at home, school, or in their community and design viable solutions. By blending STEAM learning with entrepreneurship, the hackathon gave young participants the rare opportunity to pitch their original ideas to a panel of expert judges and community leaders.The event focused on giving students the tools to see themselves as more than just consumers of technology, but as the creators of it.
