Blaze prompts brief evacuations, road closures

A fast-moving vegetation fire that threatened homes east of Anza prompted a large emergency response, road closures and brief evacuation orders Thursday evening before firefighters stopped its forward progress.The June 25 fire was reported at 6:34 p.m. near the 39300 block of Rolling Hills Road in the unincorporated area of Anza.Multiple ground and air resources responded to reports of smoke and fire. The incident was later named the Rolling Fire, according to radio traffic.Upon arrival, firefighters found an approximately 2-acre fire burning in light to medium fuels with a moderate rate of spread and the potential to grow to several hundred acres, according to Incident Command.As conditio
