The Winchester Days Community Fair was allocated $10,000 of Unincorporated Communities Initiative funding.
The Riverside County Board of Supervisors voted 5-0 August 25 to approve the appropriation. The grant will be given to the Winchester Homeland Town Association, which organizes Winchester Days.
A November 2020 Board of Supervisors action created the Unincorporated Communities Initiative to improve the infrastructure and services provided to residents of unincorporated communities with an emphasis on disadvantaged unincorporated communities. The program is funded through the Unincorporated Communities Fund which is allocated during the annual budget process. The county’s 2026-27 budget approved June 23 included $15,000,000 for the Unincorporated Communities Fund divided evenly between the five Supervisorial Districts.
This year Winchester Days will take place October 3. The event with no admission charge and suitable for residents and visitors of all ages includes a 5,000-meter run, hay rides, a petting zoo, local food, and community booths.
