The City of Hemet awarded a contract to install trash capture devices on stormwater catch basins.The Hemet City Council voted 5-0 October 13 to award a construction contract to Gentry General Engineering, Inc. The work will install 113 full capture devices at designated catch basin locations.Storms wash trash into gutters and storm drains, and that trash is eventually conveyed into streams, creeks, rivers, and the Pacific Ocean. In April 2015 the State Water Resources Control Board adopted trash provisions which are intended to eliminate trash pollution from stormwater systems statewide.
