A community facilities district for the Amber Valley development in unincorporated Temecula has been approved by the Riverside County Board of Supervisors.The 4-0 vote on September 9, with Chuck Washington absent, adopted the resolution forming the CFD. A community facilities district includes a special tax (sometimes known as Mello-Roos taxes due to the state legislators who authored the option for services on new development to be funded by an annual assessment) to fund the services and/or infrastructure.
