This week, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the backbone of our great district: volunteers. December 5 is International Volunteer Day, a day that many hard-working volunteers are celebrated and thanked for their sincere efforts in uplifting our community. In a time of holidays and joyful spirits, it’s important to acknowledge all the volunteers who spread holiday cheer to those who need it most.
Here in the County of Riverside, we have many ways for people to contribute their time to support our community. A few to highlight are through our very own animal shelters. Our Animal Shelter Volunteer program brings in people to support our furry friends through many avenues. We also partner with the American Red Cross, where volunteers make up 90 percent
