MENIFEE — Audie Murphy, one of the most remarkable figures of the 20th century, will be the focus of an upcoming historical presentation exploring his connection to Menifee and the ranch he once owned in the area. Murphy was World War II’s most decorated American soldier, earning numerous military honors for his bravery in combat. Following the war, he became a well-known Hollywood star, portraying soldiers and Western heroes in dozens of films. Despite his fame, Murphy sought a quieter life away from the spotlight and spent time at his Menifee ranch, where he found refuge and connection to the rural landscape. The presentation, titled Audie Murphy: Military Hero, Hollywood Star, and His Menifee Ranch, will be led by local historian David Foust. It will take place on Saturday, Jan. 1
