Murrieta, Calif. — A motorcycle collision on Interstate 15 slowed the afternoon commute in Murrieta on Wednesday.
I-15 Northbound Collision
Emergency crews responded to a traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a white sedan on I-15 Northbound, just north of California Oaks Road/Kalmia Street in Murrieta at approximately 4:03 p.m..
According to California Highway Patrol (CHP) radio traffic, reports indicated the motorcyclist was lane splitting prior to the collision. The rider went down in the center divider, where the white sedan also pulled over.
The Murrieta Fire Department was notified and dispatched to the scene. Fortunately CHP reported that the rider was transported by EMS with minor injuries though the extent of injuries was not immediately available.
Authorities remind drivers to remain alert for debris and to exercise caution when sharing the road with motorcyclists, particularly during peak traffic hours.
