One person died and another was hospitalized with injuries of unknown severity following a skydiving incident Thursday afternoon in Perris.
CAL FIRE and the Riverside County Fire Department responded to reports of traumatic injuries involving skydivers at 1:54 p.m. in the 600 block of E. Ellis Avenue. Upon arrival, emergency personnel pronounced one skydiver dead at the scene.
A second skydiver was transported by ground ambulance to a local medical facility with injuries of unknown severity. Fire officials stated that no other injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
Authorities have not yet released the identities of the skydivers, pending the notification of next of kin, and the circumstances leading to the incident remain under investigation.
