Firefighters quickly contained a vegetation fire that ignited along northbound Interstate 15 near Rainbow Valley Boulevard on Tuesday morning after a vehicle fire spread into nearby brush, authorities said.
The incident was reported at approximately 7:05 a.m. along the northbound side of Interstate 15 near Rainbow Valley Boulevard in the Rainbow area. According to dispatch information, the fire began as a vehicle fire before extending into surrounding vegetation, prompting a response from multiple fire agencies.
Crews from the North County Fire Protection District, along with assisting resources, responded to the scene and worked to stop the fire's spread. Assigned units included Battalion 111, Brush 112, CAL FIRE resources, Division Chief Fire Engine 11, Engines 111, 115 and 151, Engine
