Mt. San Jacinto College (MSJC) is expanding athletic opportunities for female student-athletes with the launch of its inaugural women's flag football program, set to begin competition in spring 2027. The College has also named Jonathan Norton as the program's first head coach.Women's flag football is one of the fastest-growing sports in California and across the nation. The California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) officially recognized the sport beginning with the 2023–24 school year, and nearly 20,000 high school student-athletes participated statewide last year. Recognizing its rapid growth, the California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A) has designated women's flag football as an emerging sport beginning in spring 2027, with the goal of becoming a fully sanctioned
