

PERRIS, Calif. — Firefighters were battling a 60-acre wildfire Tuesday in an unincorporated area near Perris, according to CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department.
The Wood Fire was reported near Orland and Roth roads. The fire was 25% contained as of the latest update. at 5:44 pm.
Evacuation warnings were issued for Riverside County zones RVC-1059 and RVC-1060. Residents in those areas were advised to be prepared to leave if conditions worsen. Current evacuation information is available through the county’s Genasys evacuation map.
The firefighting response included 169 personnel, 29 engines, two water tenders, three helicopters, three bulldozers, six hand crews and 25 other resources. Air tankers were conducting fire-suppression missions as conditions allowed.
Officials did not report any injuries or damage to structures. The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
