Murrieta City Council approves contract for Fire Station 2 restroom and shower remodel

The Murrieta City Council approved a construction contract to remodel restrooms and showers at Fire Station 2.A 5-0 vote on September 1 approved a $166,700 contract with Temecula contractor Camp Constructors, Inc., for the work. The action also authorized a contingency amount of $25,005 to cover unforeseen circumstances and found the replacement or reconstruction of existing infrastructure or facilities on the same site without expanded use to be categorically exempt from California Environmental Quality Act review.Station 2 is in the 40000 block of California Oaks Road. The fire station is staffed with one captain, two engineers, and two firefighter/paramedics for each shift. Station 2 opened in May 1990.The restrooms and showers at Station 2 have aged and require maintenance.
