The City of Temecula will be obtaining a new backhoe tractor for the city’s Public Works Department.A 5-0 Temecula City Council vote on September 9 approved the purchase of a 2026 John Deere 320P backhoe tractor. The tractor will be purchased from John Deere Construction Retail Sales, and the Sourcewell government agency purchasing cooperative pricing along with sales tax will total $162,268.34.The Public Works Department maintains infrastructure, including roadways, drainage systems, and other assets that ensure safe and efficient transportation. The department’s Maintenance Division relies on heavy equipment capable of excavation, trenching, material handling, and general field operations.
