The Hemet Police Department will be obtaining 20 new cameras for the city’s police department.A 5-0 Hemet City Council vote September 8 approved the purchase of eight in-car camera systems and 12 body-worn cameras. Axon Enterprises, Inc., whose headquarters office is in the Phoenix suburb of Scottsdale, will be the vendor.In January 2025 the city council approved a ten-year agreement with Axon to provide advanced law enforcement technologies. The agreement consolidated multiple existing Axon products and expanded the police department’s technology platform to include Taser 10 energy weapons, Axon Body 4 body-worn cameras, Fleet 3 in-car camera systems, virtual reality training equipment, software licensing, Axon Draft One narrative generation software, and related services.
