The Tahquitz High School cross country team made the trip to San Diego for the September 11 New Balance San Diego River Park Invitational meet which utilizes the trail on the south end of the Snapdragon Stadium site. Tahquitz junior Renaldo Mendoza won the boys junior varsity Division 2 race, and six Tahquitz runners took home medals for finishing among the top 30 in their race.“I’m just proud of my young team, and I feel we’re just going to get better from here,” said Tahquitz head coach Shelly Hannah.Although the meet was in the City of San Diego three high schools in San Diego’s eastern suburbs – Mount Miguel (Spring Valley), El Capitan (Lakeside), and Grossmont (the border of La Mesa and El Cajon) – hosted the meet.
